Parent Coaching

  • Parenting is hard.

It’s a 24/7 project full of surprises. Each family has unique strengths and requires a unique approach. My background in child-development, and decades of experience as a Mom and foster parent, have helped me connect with hundreds of families to help get them on the right track. Using evidence-based techniques and a solutions-focused approach I can give you the tools to bring more consistency and joy to your parenting journey.

I offer Parent Coaching sessions in person, and virtually by phone or video. Each session includes a follow up email with session notes, homework, and next steps.

  • School Support

Aside from home, school is the place our kids spend the most time. We all want the best experience for our child, but navigating the school system can be intimidating. Having someone in your corner who understands the system can help you get results. If you need help communicating with a teacher, getting results in the classroom, accessing resources, working with school-related anxiety, addressing principals, implementing I.E.P.’s, managing behavioural issues, or advocating for your child in school meetings, let’s connect.

  • Stress Management

Stress is a family issue, and the solutions begin at home. Kids learn how to manage their stress, anxiety, and anger by watching the adults around them. This is the most important legacy we leave our children, so how do we teach our kids stress and wellness skills that we were never taught? Using techniques from my evidence-based T.A.S.A.M. program I can help your family build their own set of tools and coping skills to make home a more peaceful place.

  • Post-Diagnosis Help

It can be overwhelming when our loved ones receive a new diagnosis like ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression or other mental health issues. What does this new label mean? What do we do next? How can we help? A new diagnosis for a child or parent can be confusing. Years of assessing youth and supporting families have given me a wealth of tips and tools; let me share them with you and help your family understand your assessment results and make a plan for what’s next.

  • Infant/Baby Support

  • Toddler Support

Toddlers are the most emotional creatures on the planet. They take a lot of energy and a lot of patience. Let me share my tips and tricks for a more peaceful home as your little ones learn how to ride the ups and downs of life. My goal is to help your household experience less yelling, less whining, less meltdowns, less stress. A solid routine (and a lot of love) can lay the groundwork for a lifetime of wellness.

  • Sleep Issues

Sleep. Is. Important. Nobody knows that more than a parent with a child who isn’t sleeping well. Our bodies heal and grow while we rest; for kids and parents disrupted sleep leads to irritability, poor concentration and focus, and increased stress. Let’s address the factors that are getting in the way of a good night’s sleep for everyone in your house.

  • Crisis/ Transition/ Change

Our biggest challenges shape who we are. Parenting through a crisis, major transition or change is so much easier to do if you have support. A trauma-informed approach reduces stress and builds resilience. Divorce, death in the family, addiction issues, immigration, violence/trauma, illness/hospitalization, LGBTQIA issues: Let me be there for your family as you navigate these challenges and plan for success.
